Absolutely! When you send an enquiry message to Carla, she will respond offering an appointment for a free initial call. In that call you will have an opportunity to let her know what it is you are looking for from your therapy sessions.
Carla's core qualification is an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling. Carla has been working with individual clients since April 2016. She has experience of working with all age groups but now focusses on working with individuals over the age of 18. Integrative practice means that Carla is able to work with a variety of client presentations, including counselling for anxiety, bereavement and grief counselling, counselling for low mood, and counselling for low self esteem. Carla's specialism is trauma therapy. Her approach helps explore the impacts of traumatic experience and how that shows up in the body and emotional response systems. This work is generally long term and is carried out mainly through the therapeutic relationship. She has worked with individuals and families affected by domestic abuse, individuals with a history of childhood sexual abuse and relational trauma.
Sessions typically last for 50 minutes. We suggest that you allow for an hour so that endings don't need to feel rushed.

Yes. Carla has worked with charities, employers and other third parties to provide sessions to individuals who are not in a position to self fund. While the contract for payment is with the funder, the contract for the counselling service remains with the client, this includes confidentiality and no information is shared with the funder with the exception of CORE outcome measures from the first and last session and the number of sessions attended if those are requested.
